Personal Space in Hong Kong

Doesn't exist. People get all up in your space and face all the time. It's not an issue for them to have personal space. It's nothing personal or confrontational either. I first thought it was weird when people got on the MTR and someone would just come up and stand right next to me or right in front me. Literally, just stand facing me, our feet just a couple inches from each other.

Here's a good example. This is the HR floor in Citibank Tower where I work twice a week. This isn't even a trading floor, but it looks like one! There are no dividers or barriers and these are recruiters. They're on the phone all day! Needless to say, I get very distracted and usually work at our other offices in Devon House.
