I really lucked out with the weather in Hong Kong. We are past the oppresively hot, stick, humid summer that is usually scattered with Typhoon scares. Instead we get warm weather anywhere from 20 - 28 degrees Celsius most days, which is usually 75-84 degrees F. It definitely beats the cold weather in Boston! Most days are sunny, but some are cloudy if there is a chance of rain. I think it has rained a couple of times, but I was either sleeping or working when it happened. This really is the best time of year to be in Hong Kong and everyone who lives here has told us.
However, on most days it's still hot to me because of the humidity! I get to work and I'm a sweaty pig! I am the only one in the elevator at work patting the sweat from my forehead. It takes a good 20 minutes to cool off after I get in the office, so gross! My hair, well, that's another nightmare. If I blow it out or straighten my hair it just gets frizzy or curly by the time I make it to the office. A coworker one morning say, "Oh how cute, you curled your hair." Nope, that's called humidity. So, why fight it? I've been letting it get crazy lately and pull it back when it looks horrendous.
One week we had really nice fall weather, it was actually a little cool. It was a great break from the humidity. I've been checking the Hong Kong Observatory website every day for a weather update http://www.hko.gov.hk/contente.htm, but then I have to convert celsius to farenheit. It looks like we'll get a weather cool down this week and it will get to around 15 celsius which is 60 degrees F. I could use the break!
I cannot complain, though, because when I return to Boston there will be snow on the ground!!
